Categories for Builds

Themes & Categories

AFOLs that register for our show are allowed to bring their builds. We are looking for MOCS (my own creations) that fall into one of the following categories.

• Historical

  These are MOCs that are renditions of people, places and moments in time. This category is for builds of real stories from any point in history.

• Fantasy

  This is a category for MOCs that tell stories in fantastical worlds outside of our own. Castles, Steampunk and Swashbuckling adventures galore!

• Sci-Fi

  All Things Science Fiction fit into the Space category. LEGO Space themes, laser sword wielding wizards, moon bases on alien worlds, and of course - SPACESHIPS!!!

• Town/Country

  From the biggest city to the smallest town, MOCs in the Town & Country category show off slices of life built from LEGO.

• 2D Art/Mosaics

  This is a category for 2D creations and Mosaics. If your creation is a flat piece that can hang or lean against a wall, this is the category to show it off!

• Want to bring your build?

  We would love to see your creations and welcome all adult fans of LEGO® to join our convention.

• Out of the Box

  Is your build impossible to categorize? Out of the Box is for all MOCs that do not fit into any other category and may include things like sculptures, wearables, and 3D art.

• Function

  The Function category is for MOCs that move or perform a specific task. Some examples may include amusement park rides, Great Ball Contraptions (GBC), or remote controlled vehicles.

• Cranes and Trains

  Is your MOC a Crane? Is your MOC a Train? If you answered yes to either question, this is probably the category to put it in.

• Community Build

  Bring your own CHARM to Northern Bricks this year and help add your own flair to our super-sized Charm Bracelet! (more info to follow)
